Ascension Catholic School is a faith filled community that welcomes students from a variety of diverse religious, economic, and ethnic backgrounds. Our school is steeped in a rich tradition of academic excellence that began in the late 1950’s with the Sisters of Notre Dame serving as our first teachers. Today, with primarily lay teachers, we still continue to challenge our students in the academic arena as well as nourish the spiritual souls of our students. All of our students attend Mass weekly and receive sacramental preparation through our Religious Education Program.
Our school community is a caring, welcoming community that comes together for the good of our children. The Ascension Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) provides all parents opportunities to volunteer as they support a variety of events for the student body such as Lego League, MathCounts, Spanish Club, Muse Machine, Power of the Pen, Geography Bee and much more. Many parents are volunteers for the Ascension Academic Team, which help students at all age levels with one-on-one remediation or opportunities for academic enrichment.
We are blessed to have certified teachers in all grade levels that are committed to providing a well-rounded curriculum that challenges students and engages them in appropriate learning experiences. Specialists in Physical Education, Art, Music, and Computer class are available to all grade levels. Students in 7th and 8th grade have the option of taking Spanish class as well as leveled math classes to prepare for high school credit. Almost 95% of our students attend area Catholic high schools where they excel with the strong foundation they have received at Ascension.
I welcome you to Ascension Catholic School and am blessed to be a part of this journey in your child’s education. The teachers and faculty are united here in our Catholic faith, praying together as a family for your child to blossom.
